MISCELLANEA

On a test of equality of several exponential survival distributions

P. B. NAGARSENKER

Department of Biostatistics, University of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

The exact distribution of the likelihood ratio statistic for testing the equality of p one-parameter exponential populations is obtained in a computational form. Tables of 5% and 1% significance points are given for p =3(1)6. An asymptotic expansion in terms of a beta distribution is also given.

Key Words: Beta distribution • Chi-squared distribution • Exact distribution • Exponential distribution • Likelihood ratio criterion • Mellin transform.
