Some results for the order statistics of the negative binomial distribution under slippage configuration

The order statistics of independent negative binomial random variables are considered for the case of a slippage configuration. A recurrence relation which expresses moments of the distributions of general order statistics in terms of moments of distributions of smallest order statistics is presented. Moments of the distribution of the smallest order statistic of negative binomial variables are considered in detail and some approximations are presented.
