Studies in the History of Probability and Statistics. XXXI. The simple branching process, a turning point test and a fundamental inequality: A historical note on I. J. Bienaymé

Some important contributions of I. J.Bienaymé in probability and statistics have been largely forgotten. In this note we discuss three such contributioné on the simple branching process, a (non-parametric) turning point test and the Bienaymé-Chebyshev inequality.
