Some notes on the relationship between the distributions of central and non-central F
University College London
University of Guelph Canada
The investigation starts from Tiku's (1965) approximation to the distribution of a non-central F, say F', based on the central F or variance ratio distribution. By examining the relations between the moment ratios ß1 and ß2 for F and F', it is shown why the approximation proved successful.
