Round-robin tournament scores
University of Birmingham
Some methods of scoring players in a round-robin tournament are proposed, based on a concept of fair allocation of rewards to each player. The scores are related to those determined by a previously suggested principle of consistency. The scoring systems lead to the
i's of the Bradley-Terry model, and they have desirable ranking properties in the case of a general linear model. Various other properties of the scores are described.
