Mr A. G. Hawkee has kindly drawn to my attention a tacit assumption, in the discussion of the clustering model at the top of p. 300, thatf1(u)= f1(–u). Without this assumption (and to correct misprints) the following corrections are necessary:

p. 300, line 5. For f1(u) with itself read f1(u) with f1(–u)

In the previous line read also f2(u) for f2(u).

p. 300, equation (6)For f1(r)E(s)+f2(r)E{½s(s–1)}

read {f1(r)+f1(–r)}E(s)+f2(r)E{s(s–1)}.
