The busy period in relation to the queueing process GI/M/1
B. W. CONOLLY
A treatment by difference equations is given of the probability distributions associated with length of the Busy Period in connexion with the simple queueing process with general input and random service. A numerical comparison is made in a few typical cases between the processes M/M/l and D/M/L, the latter being of interest in connexion with appointment systems.
